At the beginning of "Breaking Bad" season 5, viewers were given a brief glimpse into the future of Walter White (Bryan Cranston) on his 52nd birthday; which he spent alone in a restaurant and he marked the occasion by using bacon to form the number "52" on top of his eggs. There was no sign of his wife, Skyler White (Anna Gunn) or his son, Walt Jr. (R.J. Mitte) and his infant daughter, Holly.
More disturbingly, Walt had drastically changed his appearance and he was using an assumed name to meet up with Lawson (Jim Beaver); who sold Walt a M60 machine gun in the back of a car. There's currently no definitive answer as to why Walt needs that much firepower, but it certainly suggests that it isn't the law that he's running from.
But all of that is a year away from the events of this Sunday's episode of "Breaking Bad;" which is called "Fifty-One." As the name suggests, this episode will depict Walt's 51st birthday. And in this week's preview scene from AMC, we see Walt in better spirits as Walt Jr. insists that his mother honor the birthday bacon tradition they've followed for years.
On last week's episode, Skyler had a very unsettling mental breakdown over her ongoing fear of Walt and what he might do. AMC's brief description of this week's episode seems to indicate that Skyler may finally do something about that:
"Skyler considers packing up the kids and leaving. Walt and Jesse's ongoing plan may be foiled by a new team member."
Don't miss the new episode of "Breaking Bad," this Sunday night on AMC!
