Actor Dominic Monaghan, known for his work in the "Lord of the Rings" franchise as well as on TV's "Lost," will be heading up his own travel-adventure show on the OLN network called "Wild Things," which will air early next year.
Exploring some of the most remote corners of the globe, Monaghan searches for the biggest, baddest and weirdest insects and creatures that can be found on the planet. In each episode, Monaghan takes the viewer along on an intimate, action-packed quest as he struggles to track down and get up-close-and-personal with some of the most rare and life-threatening insects on the globe. Whether he’s on the hunt for a few million flesh-slicing army ants in the steamy rainforests of Ecuador, searching for a giant venomous centipede in the caves of Venezuela, or facing off with a deadly scorpion in the arid deserts of Namibia, each episode of "Wild Things" takes viewers on a heart-pumping adventure. In total he hits eight countries on four continents during the eight-episode run of the series.
In the premiere episode, Monaghan makes his way to the rice paddies of Vietnam’s Mekong Delta to a lake infested with crocs in search of the venomous Giant Water Bug, which is the size of a man’s hand and has an incredibly painful bite that actually liquefies flesh.
"Wild Things" debuts on OLN on Monday, January 21 at 9 pm.
